How we build
We are interested in software that remains understandable as it grows.
That shapes the way we approach both product and engineering work.
Clear product boundaries
A product should have a coherent model of what information it owns, what information comes from external systems, and what is calculated temporarily for the user.
Keeping those boundaries clear improves reliability, privacy, and the ability to evolve a product over time.
Deliberate design
We value interfaces that communicate state clearly and behave consistently.
We prefer reusable interaction patterns and durable product concepts over temporary interfaces that exist only to accommodate an implementation shortcut.
Privacy-conscious engineering
Privacy is not just a policy document.
We consider data minimization, access control, retention, external integrations, logging, and operational access while designing the systems themselves.
Our goal is to avoid collecting information merely because it might someday be useful.
Reliable systems
Software inevitably encounters unavailable networks, changing external services, stale information, interrupted processes, and unexpected conditions.
We design with those realities in mind and aim for systems that fail clearly, preserve user intent, and recover safely.
Responsible iteration
Not every future idea belongs in the first version of a product.
We try to preserve room for future capabilities without prematurely building complexity that users do not yet need.
